Softly and Tenderly By Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck

Softly and Tenderly By Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck is about Jade a wife who is going through a very rough time in her life. Jade finds out her husband Max has not been faithful and many other secrets her family has been keeping. Jade is taking care of her mother Beryl who is dying of cancer. She brings her mother home to Iowa where she meets her first love again. Jade is torn between two men and has a mountain of other problems.

I wanted to like this book more, but I found it hard due to all of the negative circumstances surrounding the main characters. I felt this book should have focused more on Jade's faith and how it would see her through any problem, but instead her faith took a backseat to all the other things going on in the book. This book left me with a lot of unanswered questions. Usually this would provoke me to buy the next book in a series, but I really didn't like the tone of this book so I will not seek the next book in the series.
